Testimonials
Here are some comments from satisfied CATARACT patients about
their surgical experience with Grange Eye Consultants:
"The
first time round I was petrified of anyone touching
my eyes and the fact that I would be awake throughout
the op, but I was treated like royalty and given
plenty of assurance that all would be well. The second time round I knew what to
expect, but the staff were just as kind and attentive. If
you have the funds, it is money well spent. No long wait wondering when the NHS are
going to send for you, and having the op at your
own convenience. Most
of all, the personal care, one-to-one, makes
you feel special. I
think you've got every aspect of service just
right, it would be hard to improve on it. It's
now nice to know one part of my body is working
to perfection, I am very grateful."
Mrs Norma
Haines, CATARACT Patient, Southampton, Hampshire |
"Having
been involved in the ophthalmic industry for some time
I had a good idea of what to expect, or so I thought,
but I was pleasantly surprised as to how little discomfort/pain
I experienced after surgery. I was expecting to feel more sore than
I did! I
am now reading 6/5 and it's amazing to read car
number plates without corrections. I
am finding sunlight very bright even on cloudy
days but not having to clean glasses on a regular
basis is a bonus. Colours
and sharpness of definition (say of buildings & general
surroundings) is spectacular."
Adrian Cook, CATARACT Patient,
Southampton, Hampshire |
"Being
squeamish about eyes I was apprehensive. However I was totally reassured from
the outset by Mr Morris and his caring and professional
manner. I asked a number of questions which he
answered simply and concisely and never made me
feel inferior for asking them. After
the initial consultation, I was supremely confident
in his abilities. I
must say that the hospital and nursing staff were
also superb. I was made to feel an important individual. Mr
Morris gave me a running commentary throughout
which was marvellous, he
even phoned me personally 3 days later. I've
seen a 100% improvement. I
use reading glasses, but the rest of the time my
eyes are 'naked', even for computer work - my children
who are short sighted are very envious."
Mrs Alex Turner, CATARACT Patient,
Romsey, Hampshire |
"A
friend of mine recommended Mr Morris and the
care I received from him in January and March
2005 was first-class. There
was zero discomfort with the right eye and only
minimal with the left eye. I would now also recommend Mr Morris
to others because of the results, his skill and
the hospital comfort. I can now shop, read without glasses
and work easily on a PC for 30-45 minutes, it's great
not having to put on my reading glasses every
five minutes."
Patricia M. Inggs,
CATARACT Patient, Bournemouth, Dorset,

"On
personal recommendation I went to see Grange Eye
Consultants to remove my cataracts. The
service was excellent in an extremely well appointed
hospital, with caring and dedicated staff and a
friendly and professional approach. My quality of life has improved immensely."
Derek
Sander, CATARACT Patient, Southampton, Hampshire |
"I
elected to go private and see Grange Eye Consultants
for my cataract operation on the strong recommendation
of my daughter, who is a local GP. The whole procedure gave me total confidence
and rapidly dispelled any fears or concerns I might
have had. The whole staff team from the surgeon
to the receptionist showed nothing but a caring
attitude. My cataract operations have had a marked
effect on my quality of life. For
the first time since my teens I no longer need
to wear glasses for either reading or driving the
car."
Dr P.C.O'Connor, CATARACT Patient, Salisbury,
Wiltshire |
"Prior
to the operation I viewed life through a permanent
foggy haze. Following
the removal of the cataracts I now see colours
clearly and I can also see TV screens properly
for the first time in years. I
can even read newspapers without having to use
reading glasses all the time. I can even read restaurant menus (and
the football scores on TV). Thankfully
my optometrist recommended Mr Morris as an excellent
surgeon and as I knew I would have to wait indefinitely
for NHS treatment I decided
to go private."

Using
my private health insurance I chose Mr Morris and
The Nuffield Hospital to remove my cataracts. They
were very efficient, considerate, caring and very
good in every way. I received excellent care in pleasant,
relaxing surroundings and had the convenience of
arranging my own dates for treatment. I
no longer have to wear glasses and don't have to
worry about my eyesight deteriorating and maybe
not being able to drive safely. Thank
you.

M. Knight, CATARACT Patient, Chandlers Ford,
Hampshire |
“In
July 2004, I had both cataracts removed by Mr Morris.
I can't think of anything you could do to further improve
on your service. From the minute I got there until I
left every whim was catered for (bliss). I was a scared
person but I was put at ease very quickly. With my new
lenses I can now get back to sewing which was my main
interest, plus embroidery and driving myself instead
of having to rely on others. Thank you.”
Beryl Lewis, CATARACT Patient, Chandlers Ford, Hampshire |
“Dear
Mr Morris, On behalf of my sister Christine Woods &
myself, I wish to thank you for performing our mother's
cataract operation so quickly. Yesterday, it was a joy to
hear her say "I can see! I can see! I can see the birds
in the garden. I can't believe it!" Thank you! Thank
you so much. We are so grateful and delighted. Thank you
for your dedication and wonderful work. Yours sincerely,
Sheila Bryant.”
Mrs Ivy Sleeman, CATARACT Patient, Southampton,
Hampshire |
“Following
a recommendation from my GP I went to see Mr Morris.
I received very good treatment and care. All the staff
at Sarum Road Hospital were very reassuring and helpful
and the atmosphere very calm before, during and after
surgery. The treatment has been brilliant. I can now
see without glasses for the first time in years. I hadn't
realised how much detail I had been missing.”
Mrs Helen Abbott, CATARACT Patient, Fordingbridge,
Hampshire |
“Mr
Morris and his staff could not have been more caring,
I felt at ease, without any worries. No-one knows what
is around the corner! To lose one's hearing is sad but
to lose your sight is dreadful! I'd definitely recommend
your service to others as I now feel I have an extended
life, I feel 20 years younger, I no longer need long-distance
glasses and everything looks so much brighter. Thank
you.”
Mrs Brenda Cole, CATARACT Patient, Romsey, Hampshire. |
“I
decided to have private treatment for my cataracts because
I hold medical insurance. The result was a great success
and I'd certainly recommend the service. Reception and
all staff, without exception, are very professional and
caring. The experience of walking into hospital with
poor eyesight and, three hours later, walking out with
'new eyes' is unbelievable. The immediate clear vision
has enabled me to drive again and go about my daily life
without having to wear spectacles - except for reading.
A simple pair of magnifying glasses are quite adequate.
The brilliance of colours is dramatic.”
Mr
Peter Jackson, CATARACT Patient, Romsey,
Hampshire |
“The
difference to my life after my cataract operations has been
fantastic. The first operation on my left eye improved my
vision beyond belief. I could read and everything had a
clarity I had not realised was there. However there was
a great inbalance between the left and right eye for which
I still needed a prescription lens. The operation on the
right eye completely solved this and gave an even greater
clarity, especially of colour. Our newly decorated lounge
walls assumed their true colour – much better! The
treatment itself was excellent and I especially appreciated
the relaxed atmosphere in which the operation was carried
out which made me feel at ease and the nurse holding my
hand was reassuring. Thank you.”
Mrs Jean Halford, CATARACT patient, Winchester,
Hampshire |
“I
had both my cataracts removed by Mr Morris on April 2004
following a personal recommendation to him. The service
was excellent - the operations were easy and painless;
the staff were helpful; and the timing was so convenient.
The clarity of my vision is now so much better, thank
you.”
Mrs Brenda Ford, CATARACT Patient, Southampton,
Hampshire |
“I
decided to go private and have my cataract removed by Mr
Morris after a recommendation from my Optometrist. The treatment
and hospital service were very good as was the attitude
and skill of the surgeon and his team, I’d definitely
recommend this surgeon to others. I now have 2 eyes that
work and was initially impressed by colour, clarity and
the definition was striking (especially seeing the backs
of my hands and those signs of age!). I’d forgotten
what seeing was. I now have a greater sense of wellbeing,
thanks.”
Mr Philip Ferris, CATARACT Patient, Alresford, Hampshire |
“I
decided to see Mr Morris privately to remove my cataract
as I have private insurance and I’m all for extra
TLC. The treatment by Mr Morris and his staff was excellent
at all times and I had no worries having had one eye done
previously. I now have the ability to see things! Thank
you.”
Kathleen McCormack, CATARACT Patient, Southampton,
Hampshire |
“The
cataract surgery performed by Mr Morris was so much less
stressful than I imagined it would be and the results have
given me a new lease of life. Absolutely wonderful. The
service, hospital and staff were all excellent, I’d
definitely recommend this cataract service to others.”
Mrs B.E. Stephenson, CATARACT Patient, Winchester,
Hampshire |
“Due
to the NHS waiting list I chose to have my cataracts removed
privately. The service I received with Mr Morris at Grange
Eye Consultants was highly professional. I was aware at
all times of what was going on, what the options were
and what was the likely outcome. This was a very modern
procedure carried through efficiently and with dispatch.
BUPA Southampton was impressive and the secretarial input
was first class. Cataract progressively reduces one’s
awareness of what is going on around, the detail gradually
erodes. After surgery the world is a much brighter place
and the detail is restored.”
Mr Jack Thomazin, CATARACT patient, Surrey. |
“It
is wonderful to be able to see again and in such colour
and definition. My cataracts needed quick treatment and
the waiting list on the NHS was very lengthy. I asked
my GP to find the best ophthalmic surgeon in the area
and he recommended Mr Morris. I found Mr Morris very
efficient and full of care and his staff compassionate
and helpful.”
Lady Oswald, CATARACT Patient, nr Southampton. |
