It
is important to remember that undergoing a surgical procedure
is not like buying a product. There are many factors that
can influence your final visual outcome:
Initial
assessment
At
Grange Eye Consultants we pride ourselves on the quality, range
of services and care we offer. As NHS accredited Consultant
Ophthalmic Surgeons, trained and skilled in England and the
United States, we are qualified to offer the most appropriate
procedure for you as an individual, be it laser vision correction
(eg LASIK) or intra-ocular surgery.
Eye
surgery is not a decision that should be rushed: your eyes
are so special that you should consider all the options available
before committing yourself. You
may feel overwhelmed with the amount of information available,
and be unsure what is right for you and your eyes. If you
have a full ophthalmic assessment with one of our Consultants,
they will discuss with you the various choices available,
answer your questions, and if you are a suitable candidate
for treatment, recommend the most appropriate option for
you. We want to ensure you know exactly what to expect through
every step of the procedure.
Part
of this is gaining confidence in the surgeon who
will perform the surgery. At
Grange Eye Consultants
your assessment will be with the surgeon himself so you
will have ample time to ask any questions you might have.
He will test your eyes to determine whether or not you
are a good candidate for refractive surgery. If he feels
that you are an ideal laser surgery candidate at this point,
you can schedule a time for your treatment.
If
however he feels that your eyes are not suitable for LASIK this
will be discussed with you. As skilled Consultant Surgeons,
they are able to offer you a range of procedures to correct
your vision and they will discuss the other options with you.
You
can then go home and take your time to consider the options,
speak to your family and other patients, book a further consultation
or simply go ahead and book your surgery. It’s up to
you!
We will not advise LASIK or
other treatment if we do not feel you have the best chance
of achieving your goal.
